Graduates, family, friends, and members of the Arcadia community gathered in the Kuch Recreation and Athletic Center for a ceremony that featured keynote speaker Dr. Diane U. Jette and student speakers Kevin Barry and Darrell Wisseman.

Jette has twice been honored with the Dorothy Briggs Memorial Scientific Inquiry Award and received the Chattanooga Research Award in 2013. She is also a recipient of the Jules Rothstein Golden Pen Award for Scientific Writing, given by Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Journal (PTJ), and was named the 2016 Cerasoli Lecturer by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Education Section.

“With [this] Commencement, the number of alumni who hold a degree in Physical Therapy from Arcadia University will total more than 2,500,” said Dr. Rebecca Craik, dean of the College of Health Sciences. “In the community and within the profession, Arcadia alumni are recognized as outstanding clinicians, professional leaders, faculty members, and administrators who carry the University’s traditions of lifelong learning, scholarship, and community service into their careers.”

The winner of the annual Carol Leiper Physical Therapy Commitment Award, given to an individual who has demonstrated commitment to the Physical Therapy Department in a substantive way that has enhanced both the program and student experience, is Margaret Wright Steele, a trustee Emerita who served as chair of the Board of Trustees at Arcadia.
