By Dan DiPrinzio | December 6, 2022

The Arcadia University community — students, alumni, friends, Cabinet, faculty and staff — came together to show united support for students hitting its ambitious goal for UKnighted Tuesday, raising $507,797 from 573 donors during the 31-hour effort. The gifts made will support a variety of student-focused initiatives that span the University.

“We are so proud of our student-centered focus, especially on UKnightedTuesday,” President Ajay Nair said during a Thank-a-Thon event in the Commons Great Room. “We keep students at the center of all we do, and UKnightedTuesday is yet another way when our community shows just how much that means to them. The size of your gift does not matter — it is your demonstration of your faith in Arcadia that matters.”

The overall totals for each of UKT’s featured fund are below:

  • The Fund for Arcadia: $282,313
  • CASAA: $2,576
  • Theater: $21,525
  • Undergraduate Research: $17,091
  • Student Success: $6,035
  • Athletics: $34,687

This year’s challenge donors, who encouraged others to give by using their own contributions as an incentive, were:

  • Susan C. Saxer ‘71, a former trustee and Scarlet and Grey Chair — Young Alumni Challenge
  • Rosemary Blankley ‘57, ‘06H, a Life Trustee — First-Time Donor Challenge
  • Dr. Theresa Rollins and Mr. John Rollins, Chair of the Board of Trustees — The Rollins Rally Challenge
  • Alison Aaron Madsen, Esq. ‘85, former Chair of the Board of Trustees — Back-to-Back Donor Challenge
  • Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees Gretchen Santamour and Board of Trustee member Nancy Glass – Undergraduate Research Partnership Challenge

“We set goals and we met those goals,” said Brigette A. Bryant, Vice President for Development and Alumni Engagement, at the Thank-a-Thon event. “But we did it together as a community, and I am so thankful. You are the heart and soul of everything we do here, and I can’t thank everyone enough.”
