PoconoRecord.com reported on July 10 that Justin Scott  was named Head Coach of Men’s Basketball at Arcadia University after serving as an assistant coach and the department’s Academic Coordinator for the last two seasons.

Scott earned his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from ESU in 2007 and his Master’s degree in Management and Leadership with a concentration in Sport Management in 2008. He was an assistant coach at ESU for three seasons, first as a graduate assistant for the men’s team and later assisting Justin Potts, Wilson’s top assistant coach, with the women’s team during the 2009-10 season. Scott also worked as ESU’s Coordinator for Special Projects, Diversity and Social Justice Education.

He started all 27 games at guard for the Warriors during the 2006-07 season, ranking third on the team with 64 assists and fourth with 29 steals as ESU advanced to the PSAC Tournament for the second straight year. He played in all 28 games as a junior in 2005-06 after transferring from Bloomsburg, where he played his first two seasons. He is a graduate of the High School of Engineering and Science in Philadelphia.

“I am extremely excited for the opportunity that Arcadia has provided me,” said Scott. “My experiences as assistant coach and Academic Coordinator for Athletics the past two years have prepared me for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead as I look to build the program as head coach. My time at ESU under Coach Wilson and Coach Potts was invaluable and they will continue to be mentors of mine as I continue my growth in the profession.”
