Kramer Named Commonwealth Rookie of the Year, Four Make All-Conference Team
Freshmen midfielder Lennon Kramer was named the 2013 Commonwealth Conference Rookie of the Year and was one of four Arcadia University women’s soccer players to be named to the 2013 Commonwealth All-Conference Team.
Kramer is the first-ever Knight to be named the Commonwealth Conference Rookie of the Year; Arcadia has been a member of the Commonwealth Conference since 2008.
Senior keeper Jackie Law, junior midfielder Kim Canfield, and Kramer were named first-team all-conference selections, while junior back Alex Stoner received honorable mention to the All-Conference Team.
Kramer started in 14 of her 19 regular season games played and was second on the team in scoring with a team-best 16 goals with four assists for 36 point. She ranked in the top-five in the Commonwealth Conference in both goals and points.
Canfield, who was named a first-team all-conference selection as a forward in 2012, started in 17 of her 19 regular season games played and led the team in scoring with 14 goals and a team-best 11 assists for 39 points. Her 11 assists also led the conference, while she ranked in the top-five in both goals and points.
Law, who is now a four-time first-team all-conference selection, started in 17 of her 19 games played this season, posting a record of 9-3-5 with a career-best 0.68 goals against average and a .857 save percentage. She recorded five shutouts and surrendered just 12 goals in 1,578 minutes in goal. Law ranked in the top-five in the conference in every goalkeeper category.
Stoner, who also received honorable mention last season, started in each of her 19 games played during the regular season, anchoring a defense that allowed just 13 goals and posted nine shutouts. She chipped in with one goal and one assist no the offensive end of the field.
The Knights posted an overall record of 11-3-5 during the regular season and tied for fourth in the Commonwealth Conference with a league mark of 4-2-3 for 15 points.
