Patricia Cornet ’91, Michel Paul Elected to Arcadia University Board of Trustees
Arcadia University is proud to announce that Patricia Cornet, group director of Community Partnerships at Bristol Myers Squibb, and Michel Paul, a retired executive from Johnson & Johnson who previously served as president of J&J’s Global Strategic Customer Solutions organization, have been elected to the Board of Trustees, effective June 1, 2021.
“Our new trustees bring with them a wealth of experience in strategic and global collaboration,” said Arcadia University President Ajay Nair. “We are honored to have them join our Board, and we look forward to both Patricia and Michel working alongside our trustees and leadership at Arcadia.”
Patricia Cornet ’91
Cornet is group director of Community Research Partnerships at Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) in Lawrenceville, N.J., where she leads strategic collaborations between BMS and large community-based physician networks across the United States.
With nearly 20 years of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry, Cornet specializes in creating and driving the strategic collaboration between pharma and organizations in clinical research to advance innovation in medicines to ensure community perspectives are incorporated and to accelerate access to these treatments for patients. At BMS, Cornet has previously held the leadership positions of director of Global Lead for Scientific Societies and Cooperative Groups in oncology, as well as varying degrees of external partnership building lead roles in advocacy and clinical operations.
Cornet is co-founder of Women of Color in Pharma, located in Somerset, N.J., which brings together women of color in the pharmaceutical industry in a nurturing environment to promote personal and professional development. She also previously served on the board of Health Occupational Students Association, and previously served on the board of Westrick Music Academy. She earned a Master of Arts in Human Services Administration from Rider University and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Arcadia University (then Beaver College) in 1991. She’s currently enrolled in a Public Health doctorate program at Walden University.
Michel Paul
Prior to his retirement from Johnson & Johnson, Paul held leadership positions as president of J&J’s Global Strategic Customer Solutions organization and company group chairman of its global Diabetes Care Franchise.
Over the course of his nearly 33-year career with Johnson & Johnson, Paul distinguished himself as a leader in a variety of healthcare roles including: worldwide general manager of the Bariatric Surgery Franchise at Ethicon Endo-Surgery Division; worldwide vice president of Emerging Market Development for Ethicon Endo-Surgery; general manager of the Vascular Access Division, and worldwide president of Depuy Mitek, the orthopedic sports medicine division.
Paul serves on the National Board of Bottom Line, a philanthropic organization serving over 8,000 students across Massachusetts, New York, and Illinois with the shared goal of enabling low-income, first-generation students to get into college, graduate, and go far in life. He holds an Executive Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Northeastern University.
