Arcadia Votes, driven by the Office of Social Impact and Innovation (SI2), in partnership with Historical and Political Studies Department, Arcadia Athletics, Student Government Organization, Engagement and New Student Programs, and Civic Engagement Society, is celebrating National Voter Registration Day by encouraging the community to be actively engaged in the 2020 election.

The initiative is using National Voter Registration Day, which is today, to build community momentum to participate in the upcoming election. Arcadia Votes is calling all community members to register to vote, learn what’s on the ballot, make a plan to vote on Nov. 3, and mobilize others to action.

Dr. Alison LaLond Wyant, director of SI2 said, “Tuesday is a kickoff rather than the end,” with more campaigns and online events planned leading up to election day.

Arcadia Votes encourages the community to share their own status as registered voters or to encourage their friends to register on social media using the hashtag #ArcadiaVotes. Arcadia Votes student coordinator, senior Maya Sierra, will be taking over the University’s Instagram stories today and community members can also follow along on Instagram via the ArcadiaKnights, ArcadiaSocialImpact, and ArcadiaCES accounts.

Arcadia Votes is a nonpartisan initiative to encourage community members to be civically engaged in the election process. Read more about the Arcadia Votes initiative or join them here.
