Seventy-one Seniors Already Have Taken the Challenge

“Ever wonder how to get your name on the Alumni Walk of Pride?” says Vanessa Jackson, Assistant Director of the Annual Fund, who works with seniors on the Class Challenge. Seventy-one seniors already have made their pledges. See Jennifer Cardinale talking about the Senior Class Challenge on YouTube.

“Previously, it took five years to get a paver on the Walk of Pride—Students made a five-year pledge totaling $125 for the Senior Class Challenge, and pavers with their names inscribed were installed by their fifth reunion. The program has been changed so that current seniors (or their families) can purchase a paver during their senior year, Jackson says. Any members of the Class of 2010 are welcome to purchase their pavers now for the earliest possible installation. The Class of 2010 can pay their pledges by July 15, 2010 to have their paver installed by Homecoming, Oct., 9, 2010. Starting with the Class of 2011, those pavers will be installed by their Commencement if full payment is made by March 1, 2011.

“Getting your name on a paver as part of the Senior Class Challenge at Arcadia is a tradition that began with the Class of 1995,” says Judy McNamara, Director of the Annual Fund. “Students might be surprised to hear that the Walk of Pride actually used to be a road with students darting between parked cars. Now it’s one of the first stops on the campus tour for new students. And for seniors, it’s the opportunity to leave your mark on campus.”

“Purchasing a paver is a way to make your first gift to Arcadia University and join thousands of other alumni who support the Annual Fund. We hope our new alumni become lifelong supporters of the Annual Fund and actively participate in alumni events,” adds Jackson.
