50th Reunion Class Works Toward Naming Commons Bridge

By Purnell T. Cropper | June 15, 2010

A special part of Reunion is the presentation of the 50th Reunion Class Gift to the University. This class gift is composed of all the annual and planned gifts and bequests from members of that class for the past five years. Extraordinary gifts, both large and small, reflect the generosity of this year’s Class of 1960. Their 5-year Class Gift in the amount of $185,913 was presented to the University at Reunion 2010 in June.

Members of the Class of 1960 took on an additional challenge this year to honor their 50th Reunion. Led by Betty Holton Weiss, Marianna Harder Peckmann, Barbara Steffa Clayton and supported by Lenore Berman Block, the class was challenged with a $100,000 goal for the opportunity to have the University Commons Bridge named in their honor. They have reached more than 85 percent of that goal and plan to meet the goal prior to the end of At Home & In the World—The Campaign for Arcadia University.
