Campus Road Now One-Way, New Sidewalk Added

Campus construction over the summer lead to changes for both pedestrian and vehicular traffic around Kuch Center.

Pedestrians now enjoy a new sidewalk that runs along the parking lot side of Kuch Center, from Boyer Hall to Easton Hall. The sidewalk is part of the Orange Route and now carries students to Murphy Hall and the Spruance Fine Arts Complex, which includes the MainStage theater and the Art Gallery.

Drivers also found new traffic patterns in place. The main campus road that runs along Boyer and Kuch is now one-way, allowing traffic to enter campus from Church Road. To allow cars to exit the Kuch parking lot, a new exit route was constructed this summer. A lane was cut through the median that links the two parking lots. To find the exit, follow the signs to the treeline near the bridge that rises to the tennis courts and Blankley Field.

“Please watch for and obey the new one-way signs,” says Tom Macchi, Associate Vice President for Facilities and Capital Planning. “Also watch for construction traffic entering and exiting the construction site on the north side of Boyer Hall. And remember, the inconvenience is temporary; the improvement is permanent.”
