Brinker Speaks at Financial Service Professionals Forum, Met Life Symposium

Thomas M. Brinker Jr., LL.M., CPA, Professor and Accounting Coordinator, was invited to present at MetLife’s Annual Symposium on Friday, Oct. 15 in a two-part workshop on Special Needs Planning in Washington, D.C. His topic—designed for special needs planners—was “Understanding the Medical Expenses Deduction in Planning for Families of Children with Special Needs.”

Brinker also was part of a general session roundtable on “Financial Service Regulation in the Post-2009 World and Its Impact on Financial Advisor Practitioners” on Oct. 8 at the FSP Forum, the premier meeting for financial professionals, in Orlando, Fla. The roundtable panel of experts discussed the most important issues of the day, including healthcare, financial reform, the return of the estate tax in 2011 and beyond, sustainable income and the use of annuities, and long-term care.
