The Presidential Search Committee met recently and discussed the current status of the search for Arcadia’s next President. Interim President Jim Gallagher joined the Committee and shared his perspective on the search and reiterated for the Committee that he is not a candidate for the permanent position.

“Our consultants from Korn/Ferry, Ken Kring and Courtney Disston, reported to the Committee that they feel the recruitment stage of the search is going very well and a strong pool of candidates is being developed,” reports Chris van de Velde, Trustee and Chair of the Presidential Search Committee. “They noted that it has been very easy to interest candidates in Arcadia University.

“There are two documents that are being used in the candidate recruitment process that the Committee wants to share with the University community. A profile of the University was developed internally, and a position description has been developed by our consultants using the information collected during the open meetings held in January. Both of these documents are now available at www.arcadia.edu/nextpresident.

“To provide some additional staff support to the Committee, Diana Bonner, Student Affairs, has agreed to work with us. She will be handling many of the logistics for the Committee,” said van de Velde.

“The Committee is very pleased with the progress made so far and is looking forward to the next steps. I want to stress that confidentiality for the candidates is very important throughout the search. I will continue to send updates when appropriate, but please understand that there is very little that can be made public at this stage. Thank you again for your support and participation in this process,” he added.
