Since 2004, when she was in the last year of her undergraduate degree at Arcadia, Dana Barbry-Nuble ’04 B.A. Liberal Studies/Elem. Ed., ’06 M.Ed. Language, has been effecting a positive change at a homeless shelter in West Philadelphia. In 2005, she accepted the position as Education Service Coordinator. Developing a sound program that focuses on parent/child interactions, she also motivates continued training and education for her staff, volunteers, and mothers. “I am charged with being creative, caring and most of all, sincere. Seeing a teenager be the first to graduate high school, holding a newborn while her mother gets something to eat, or giving out new uniforms and school supplies to children who thought there was nothing, blows me away. I am extremely passionate about what I do.” She credits her education at Arcadia for allowing her to see things from many different levels. Her daughter is currently a graduate student at Arcadia, working on her degree in secondary education.
