Kaitlin Babbitt ’13 and Tanisha Thelemaque ’13, recipients of the Vira I. Heinz Scholarship Program for Women in Global Leadership, spoke to students and the community about their experiences living in Argentina this past summer during a panel discussion, “Areas of Neglect: Addressing Community Needs at Home and Abroad,” at Temple University. Each student highlighted her international experiences and connected them to issues of education, poverty, and health care in their respective countries, as well as connecting those issues to Philadelphia and what the community could do to be involved. Kay Kalenga, Director of Undergraduate Studies, is the campus coordinator for the Vira I. Heinz Program.
