Betsey Batchelor, professor of fine arts, is one of a select group of American and Cuban artists and student artists whose work is featured in the collaborative exhibition Women in Trees: Mujeres en los Arboles.

The exhibit premiered on Nov. 25, 2013 in Cuba, where it was hosted in conjunction with the Women in the 21st Century International Conference sponsored by the University of Havana. The U.S. exhibition will be held through Jan. 31, 2014 at the Woodlands Commons Gallery at Penn State Abington, where it opened Dec. 4, 2013.

The collaborative art project involved eight artists and four student artists from both countries, whose final collaborative works illustrate how their experience working together transformed their perspectives and revealed metaphoric boundaries and identities. Taller Experimental Graphica, Penn State Abington, and Penn State University generously supported the project.
