Nov. 13: Edinburgh Center Lecture Series Continues with Martin Steele

On Thursday, Nov. 13, at 12:15 p.m. EST, the Edinburgh Center Online Lecture Series continues with Martin Steele, senior brand manager of Barrs soft drinks, Scotland’s iconic non-alcoholic fizzy drink IRN-BRU. As Barrs’ unique and humorous advertising has been labeled, at times, as controversial, students in marketing and business, and those with a focus on the food and drink industry, will benefit from this lecture.

IRN-BRU’s marketing has won the brand many awards, including the Scottish Advertising Awards Grand Prix 2007 for the Snowman Advert. That same year, IRN-BRU won several “Best in the Last 21 Years Awards” including Best Brand, Best Slogan for “Made in Scotland from Girders,” Best Radio Commercial for “Furry Liquid,” Best Poster for “Bitches,” and Best Advertising Campaign in the last 21 years for “See What IRN-BRU Can Do for You.”
