CCEC Holds Annual Moving Out Collection for Homeless Veterans and Philabundance

By Caitlin Burns | April 28, 2016

Cleaning out before moving out in May? Donate your usable items and non-perishable foods to the Community and Civic Engagement Center’s (CCEC) annual end of year collections through Monday, May 23.

This year’s usable items and non-perishable food will benefit the Philadelphia nonprofit Veterans Multi-Service Center, which helps area veterans who are struggling to return to everyday life, including job training and shelter services. The center is in need of towels, sheets, curtains, clothing, shoes, furniture, toiletries, non-perishable food, and school supplies.

Donations can be placed in designated areas of Oak Summit, and Knight, Kistler, Dilworth, Thomas, and Heinz halls. A full list of donation items and drop-off locations is available on Arcadia’s website.

Have leftover Chat points? A second collection will take place in the Chat, where students can contribute non-perishable food that will be donated to Philabundance. Packaged hot and cold breakfast cereals, granola bars, packaged snacks, and other foods can be placed in the collection box at the Chat.
