Charles Lentz ’03M Named Chair of the Board of Trustees

Arcadia University has announced that, due to personal reasons, Chris van de Velde has stepped down from his position as Chair of the Board of Trustees. Van de Velde, who has served on our Board since 2007 and as Board Chair since 2013, will remain as a member of the Board of Trustees.

Dr. Charles (Chuck) William Lentz ‘03M, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, has been appointed Chair of the Board, effective immediately. Dr. Lentz began his term on the Board of Trustees at Arcadia University in 2010. He earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1994, an M.A. in Education from Gratz College in 1998, an M.S. in Educational Leadership from Arcadia in 2003, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Widener University.

Dr. Lentz has worked in education for over 20 years in the Abington School District, serving as Principal of McKinley Elementary since 2008. He is involved in numerous community committees, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County and St. Luke and the Epiphany Church, and has served as President of the Welsh Society of Philadelphia since 2007.

The Board also announced that Dr. Joycellen (Jey) Auritt ‘71, a licensed psychologist in PA, and Clair Raubenstine, a retired business advisory partner for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, were elected as Vice Chairs of the Board of Trustees.
