Each month from August through December, students in the Physician Assistant (PA) Class of 2018 at both the Christiana and Glenside campuses volunteered to better their communities, organizing events and donating hundreds of hours of service.

At the Christiana campus, students sorted food at the Food Bank of Delaware, collected clothes for the Clothing Bank of Delaware, participated in AIDS Walk Delaware, raised money for the Leukemia Research Foundation of Delaware, and wrote letters to troops abroad through Support Our Soldiers.

In Pennsylvania, students cleaned gardens at Covenant House in Kensington, organized food deliveries for Aid for Friends, cooked meals for residents of Northwest Philadelphia Interfaith Hospitality House, packed and delivered meals for MANNA, and helped set up the Light the Night Walk for the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society.

Together, the Class of 2018 began fundraising at The Field House in Philadelphia for the Physician Assistant Olympics, which provides a donation to The Mazzoni Center, a local organization that has provided healthcare and wellness services to the LGBTQ community in Philadelphia for more than 35 years. Last year, the seven regional PA programs that participated donated a combined total of $15,500, the largest single contribution to The Mazzoni Center.
