Dr. Longacre Publishes Research on Relieving Cancer Caregivers Stress

Dr. Margaret Longacre, assistant professor of Public Health, published a study with Oxford Academic Transformational Behavioral Medicine about supporting caregivers of cancer patients.

The study analyzed three caregiver support programs from across the country and made recommendations for the addition of new programs that incorporate qualities from each of those that was analyzed.

The study aims to encourage more organizations to provide both mental and physical support for caregivers. It was completed in collaboration with the Cancer Support Community (National) Research and Training Institute, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, National Cancer Institute, Michigan State University’s College of Nursing, Cancer Support Community Greater Ann Arbor, and University of Michigan’s School of Nursing.
