Call for Book Donations

Joe Carey ’02, a teacher at Northwoods Park Middle School in Jacksonville, N.C., is hoping to restock the school’s library in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence. One of many schools impacted by the storm, Northwoods Park sustained damages to their facilities and lost their media center. Although students and faculty have returned to campus, the road to recovery is still ahead of them.

The Community and Civic Engagement Center (CCEC) will host a book collection on behalf of Carey until Thanksgiving break. Any middle school-level books (grades 6-8), such as Harry Potter, A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Hunger Games, etc., are welcome.

Books can dropped off at the CCEC Office, Landman Library, or Blankley Alumni House.
