Understanding STEM Teaching Through Integrated Contexts in Everyday Life
USTRIVE is hosting a free STEM Educator conference for ANYONE interested in STEM and Social Justice education on May 06, 8:30am-12:30pm at Arcadia University in Glenside, PA.
The event will feature Monica Gonzalez as the keynote speaker. Gonzalez is an assistant professor of mathematics education at East Carolina University. She studies equitable mathematics teaching practices and how to help teachers enact these practices in their classrooms.
Participants will engage in hands-on workshops led by 6-12th grade STEM teachers in our USTRIVE program.
Understanding STEM Teaching Through Integrated Contexts in Everyday Life (USTRIVE) means teaching your students lessons grounded in relevant social and scientific problems facing them in their own community. It means helping them master the skills and concepts necessary to become effective social change agents.
