Drs. Bartoli and Lee Present at 34th Winter Roundtable in New York City

Dr. Eleonora Bartoli, associate professor and director of the Counseling program, and Dr. Hsin-Hua “Cathy” Lee, assistant professor of Psychology, presented at the 34th annual Winter Roundtable on Cultural Psychology and Education in New York City on Feb. 24 and 25.

The theme of this year’s conference was “From Ferguson to Flint: Multicultural Competencies for Community Based Trauma.” Dr. Bartoli led “Justice for Healing: Police Brutality, Privilege, and Betrayal Trauma,” a roundtable discussion that addressed the responsibility of mental health professionals in responding both publically and clinically to community trauma engendered by police use of excessive force against black men and youth.

Dr. Lee presented on handling trauma in professional environments, titled “Supervisor, Supervisee, and Clients with Oppressed Status: Processing Recent Community Trauma across Supervisory and Therapy Dyads.”
