Presidential Message: Thanks and Gratitude

By Daniel DiPrinzio | December 10, 2021

Dear Arcadia Community:

As we close our fall 2021 semester, I would like to take a moment to offer my deepest thanks and gratitude to each of you for your commitment to maintaining a culture of dignity, personal responsibility, and shared safety. It is because of you that the University was able to continue offering in-person classes and activities on campus for a robust fall semester for our students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Our community members have stepped up and embraced vaccinations; over 90 percent of our students, faculty, and staff are vaccinated against COVID. While this is very encouraging, the developing Omicron variant is yet another reminder of the importance of vaccines and booster shots. With the CDC recommending booster shots to anyone 18 and over, we strongly encourage community members to get a booster shot, either at one of our on-campus vaccination clinics or at a location that is convenient to you.

Our public health experts and COVID leadership teams will continue to monitor the situation regarding the Omicron variant on campus and in our local community, and we will assess our efforts and adapt to any situation as needed. This may include a change in some of our University’s stances, including with testing and mitigation measures, and we will communicate any relevant information to you when appropriate.

As we prepare to leave for winter break, where we will spend time gathering with family and friends, we must not falter on our commitment to our health and safety and the measures we must continue to take to protect the health and safety of others, especially the most vulnerable among us.
Thank you,

Ajay Nair, Ph.D.
President
