From LA to Spain, Borbone Adjusts to Another Culture

When it rains in Spain, Kim Borbone ’12, knows how to handle a bit of the “negative Nancys,” she writes in Que sera sera on the Arcadia University student blog site.

“We all know the steps of culture shock, so we’re able to recognize it as that, which is nice. It’s sunny today and nice out so I think during our siesta we’re going to go lay in the park or something, something fun!… I think my study away experience at Whittier College in Los Angeles really helped me prepare for culture shock and makes it easier to go further away from home. Going to college was my first step, going to the other side of the United States was the second, and now I’m across the ocean! It’s really an amazing thing….”
