Arcadia University’s Office of Marketing and Communications is launching a student podcast called Trigger Warning. The episodes were recorded in the spring 2023 semester by Indigo Ashbridge ’24 and Phoebe Day ’25, and will be released on Spotify on a weekly basis beginning Thursday, Sept. 7.

The inspiration for the podcast stems from the hosts’ very different backgrounds. Ashbridge was an international student from Northern Ireland who spent the 2022-23 school year studying at Arcadia. Day is originally from Philadelphia and now calls Glenside home. They are majoring in Business Marketing and Global Media, respectively.

“We wanted to provide different perspectives,” said Ashbridge. “Obviously me from Ireland, Phoebe from Glenside. Arcadia being an international school, it would be good to get a lot of perspectives in.”

“Arcadia also has a big emphasis on students going around the world and getting global experience,” Day added. “For those students who can’t really get that right now, we can give that to them right from our podcasting studio. Indigo has, obviously, some international experience from her whole life, and I am about as local as it gets. So those are kind of two opposite sides of the spectrum coming together.”

The title of the podcast alludes to the hot-button nature of some of the topics they explore.
