Rettore of Roma Tre University to Receive Honorary Degree

Arcadia University President Carl (Tobey) Oxholm III announced that Arcadia will award an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree to Professor Guido Fabiani, Rettore of Roma Tre University, at the Graduate Commencement ceremony at 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 17.

Professor Guido Fabiani has been Rettore, or Chancellor, of Roma Tre University, one of Italy’s most respected universities, since 1998, leading it through a period of unprecedented growth. He is a scholar of economics with a special expertise in agricultural development. His work has been translated into several languages, and he has collaborated with the Italian government, international institutions such as the UN and the EU, public education bodies, scientists and academics. He has received many awards for his numerous academic and civil achievements, including the title of Chevalier dans l’Ordre National de la Légion d’Honneur granted by decree of the President of France.

The College of Global Studies established the Arcadia University Center for Italian Studies (AUCIS) in partnership with Roma Tre University in Rome, Italy in 2010. Situated on the campus of Roma Tre, the Center offers an innovative academic program of courses, taught in English and Italian by faculty through AUCIS and Roma Tre.
