Four Arcadia Alumni Join Teach for America

Beginning this academic year, four Arcadia University alumni are teaching in underserved communities through Teach for America, a nonprofit that aims to “enlist, develop, and mobilize as many as possible of our nation’s most promising future leaders to grow and strengthen the movement for educational equity and excellence,” according to the organization.

Amira Elsheikh ’15 (English) teaches bilingual education at Academia Antonia Alonso in Del., Maura Quigley ’15 (Psychology) teaches upper elementary at Walt Whitman Elementary School in Tulsa, Okla., Kate Slenzak ’15 (International Studies) teaches English at Stuttgart High School in Stuttgart, Ariz., and Jamie Snyder ’11 (Sociology) teaches English in Dallas-Fort Worth.
