On a scale of 1 to 10, how excited am I to study abroad? A solid 13.5, no question about it. Hi! I’m Erin Morrisey, a junior at Butler University in Indianapolis double-majoring in Middle-Secondary Education and English literature. I’ve spent the past two decades basking in the glow of the southern Illinois plains, but I’m on my way to Edinburgh, Scotland to study literature and creative writing this summer. I stumbled into studying abroad, accidentally falling in love with 18-hour plane rides during educational trips to China and Germany. In the past five years, I’ve traveled halfway around the world to explore history and cultures, but I’m looking forward to the independent experience of studying literature and education styles in a new country. I can’t wait to explore lots of new literature, ingest exorbitant amounts of coffee, experience my faith abroad, get lost on hikes, and embrace the simple possibility of adventure each day, whether that’s within the classroom or on cobblestone streets. I’m so excited to share my experiences and discoveries with you!
