Adjunct Professor of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies David Bradley was selected as one of 12 recipients of the Arts + Business Council of Greater Philadelphia’s 2020 Leadership Awards, which recognize individuals who demonstrate remarkable leadership, exceptional innovation, and a commitment to the community in Philadelphia.

Bradley earned the recognition as co-founder and director of Arts and Learning at LiveConnections, a nonprofit organization dedicated to live music, music education, and community engagement in Philadelphia. LiveConnections, which recently merged with its longtime collaborator World Cafe Live, has supported music education and arts accessibility since 2008 with programs that have served over 50,000 participants and 50 public schools.

“It’s humbling to be in the company of so many great leaders,” said Bradley. “I appreciate any organization or group that helps lift up how art can make an impact in the city and region.”

Bradley teaches the Arts Leadership and Management course at Arcadia, which merges his loves of arts leadership and teaching. Through this course, students develop their own arts organization and engage with arts leaders in the community, including Bradley’s colleague and LiveConnections co-founder Hal Real—who also received a 2020 Leadership Award.

“It’s about creative leadership,” said Bradley. “This is what I love to do.”
