Erin Livingston Named Arcadia’s Head Coach of Field Hockey
Erin Livingston, of Philadelphia, has been named head coach of field hockey at Arcadia University, athletic director Shirley Liddle has announced.  Livingston brings a wealth of both playing and coaching experience at the Division II and III levels, most recently serving as the graduate assistant at Kean University from 2006-2009.  Read more... 

Fall & Winter Athletic Schedules Announced
Schedules for the 2009-10 fall and winter sports team have been posted on each team's respective website.  Four of five fall teams will begin the 2009 season on Sept 1:  Women's Tennis travels to Philadelphia Bible (3:30 PM), Volleyball travels to Misericordia (7 PM), Women's Soccer will play at Cedar Crest (4 PM) while Men's Soccer will host Rutgers-Camden on the Kuch Center field at 4 PM.  Field Hockey travels to Rosemont for their season opener on Sept 2 (4 PM).  Men's & Women's Swimming open their season at home on Nov 4 against FDU-Florham, Men's Basketball tips off the 2009-10 season at Rowan on Nov 17 (8 PM) while Women's Basketball opens their season at Haverford College on Nov 18. 

Athletic Training pre-participation forms available online
A reminder to incoming first year and returning fall student-athletes, pre-participation forms must be completed and received by the athletic training staff prior to your participation in the fall preseason. The forms can be printed out be clicking here.  Please contact Dene McKeee, Head Athletic Trainer, with any questions at (215) 572-2848. Start dates for the preseason will be announced on our website soon.  

Twenty Five Knights Tabbed to Spring All Academic Honor Roll
The Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation announced their tri-annual Academic Honor Roll with twenty five Knights being named to the list of 315 conference honorees.  The Honor Roll comprises those student-athletes of sophomore class standing or higher who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher and completed the playing season in good standing.  Read more...

Softball alumni game to be played May 30
Arcadia University/Beaver College Alumni Softball game will take place at Blankley Field this Saturday, May 30 at 3 pm.  All alumni are invited to participate whether pre-registered or not.  In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved indoors to the Kuch Center.  Athletics apparel will be available for sale.  For more information, please contact Head Coach Linda Detra at 215-572-2996.

Knights Selected to Sportsmanship Teams
The Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation announces its first annual sportsmanship teams for spring 2009 conference sports.  These teams include a player from each conference school who has demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship through their actions on and off the field during the season.  The players are selected by the players and coaches from their respective schools.  Tim Smith '09 (Baseball), Jaime Bee '09 (Softball), Jenni Groves '11 (Women's Lacrosse) and Bart Blankenship '11 (Men's Tennis) were named to their respective Spring All Sportsmanship Team for their sport.

Basketball Day Camp Returns to Arcadia

Arcadia University Men's Basketball head coach Pat Dorney will again host his annual Day Camp for students in grades 2 through 9, July 27 through July 31 at the Kuch Athletics & Recreation Center on the campus of Arcadia University in Glenside, PA.  Read more...

Curreri, Pempkowski Earn All Conference Honors 

Graduate student John Curreri and junior Matt Pempkowski have been awarded All Commonwealth selections for their efforts on the diamond in 2009.  Curreri, a student in Arcadia’s Physical Therapy graduate program, receives his second straight First Team selection after making first team in the Freedom Conference in 2008.   Pempkowski, a Business Administration major, was named Second Team All Commonwealth.  Read more... 


Burns leads six Knights on Softball All Conference Teams
With a team leading 41 RBI and her most productive season at the plate, Arcadia junior catcher Kristen Burns was named First Team All Commonwealth in her first season as the starting catcher for the Knights. Burns lead a class of six Knights named All Conference, which also includes seniors Diana Rufo and Kiersten Hughes, sophomore Virginia Buechel and first years Lindsay Henchinski and Jennifer Sevitski.

Blankenship, Langner Remain Alive at MASCAC Tennis Championships
The second doubles duo of sophomore Bart Blankenship and junior Kevin Langner rolled through today's first and quarterfinal rounds of play at the MASCAC Men's Tennis Individual Championships at Kirby Park in Wilkes-Barre to remain alive in the tournament which will conclude with Sunday's final rounds of play.  Blankenship/Langner defeated Blake Bonser and David Kaluzavich of Kings, 8-5 in the toughest of their two matches on the afternoon, before handing DeSales' duo Dan Bullen/Joe Sulpizio an 8-3 loss.  The Knights lost all five singles matches and dropped their pairings at number one and three doubles.

Widener eliminates Knights from postseason
Widener University used an early advantage on the scoreboard and a steady offense to hold the Knights to just three runs, their first of the tournament, ending the Knights season with a 9-3 victory and the right to play for the championship later this afternoon.  Widener will face Lebanon Valley with the winner to play Messiah for the Commonwealth Championship.  Senior Jaime Bee registered a pair of hits, one RBI and one run scored to lead the Knights.  Read more... 

Knights overpowered in 8-0 defeat to Messiah College in Championship opener 
The Commonwealth Conference playoffs got underway this afternoon as Arcadia fell to Messiah College 8-0. The Knights looking to pull the upset over the number one seed Falcons were never able to figure out Messiah freshman pitcher Jessica Rhodes who threw a complete game no hitter.  The Knights will face #3 Widener (Lebanon Valley defeated the Pride 1-0 on Friday) in Saturday's opening game with first pitch scheduled for 9 AM.

Arcadia Softball to square of against #1 Messiah in Championship Opening Game
The #4 Knights were held scoreless in today's Commonwealth Conference Championship opening game, falling 8-0 (6 inn.)to #1 Messiah College.  The Knights must win tomorrow's game four to remain alive in the tournament.  Arcadia will face the loser of today's second game featuring #2 Lebanon Valley and #3 Widener.

Knights Commonwealth Conference Championship Quest
Softball -  Captured the #4 seed for the Commonwealth Conference championships.  The #4 Knights are set to play #1 Messiah, Friday, May 1 at 11 AM in Grantham, PA.

- The Knights fell 5-0 victims to the #1 seed Elizabethtown College Blue Jays Saturday afternoon in the Commonwealth Conference Team Championship semi-final round match.  Results 

Women's Tennis -  The Knights fell 5-0 victims to the #1 seed Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen Saturday afternoon in the Commonwealth Conference Team Championship semi-final round match.

Men's Golf - Kevin Gallagher shed six strokes off Sunday's back nine score of 46 with five pars to jumped from 22nd overall to a tie for 17th in the final standings, leading Arcadia into their 7th place overall team finish.  The Blue Jays of Elizabethtown College earned the NCAA automatic bid with first place overall and the conference championship title.

Softball Lose Two to Haverford
Arcadia Softball closed out the 2009 regular season with a pair of losses to cross town non-conference rival Haverford College.  The Fords pulled out a narrow 9-7 victory in game one followed by a 4-0 shutout of the Knights in the nightcap.

Baseball falls in final game to Swarthmore College
The Arcadia baseball team played its final game of the season Sunday afternoon at Swarthmore College, falling 22-11. Senior John Curreri finished his career on a high note at the plate, going 3-5 on the afternoon, with a run scored and an RBI. Curreri finishes the season hitting .427 from the plate, which was third best in the Commonwealth Conference. Read more...

Women's Lacrosse Fall Short in Season Finale
Arcadia Women's Lacrosse hosted the Manhattanville College Valiants in the season closing game of the Middle Atlantic Conference schedule Saturday afternoon with the Valiants coming away 13-7 winners to end the Knights season. The low scoring defensive focused first half ended with the Knights trailing by just 3 but they were unable to contain the Valiants in the second half.  Read more... 


Softball Locks up Play-off Appearance; Sweeps Elizabethtown 

The Arcadia University softball team took two from the Blue Jays of Elizabethtown this evening in a very important conference doubleheader. The two teams entered the contests tied for fourth place in the standings with four wins a piece in league play. The Knights 5-3 and 8-7 victories assures them one of the four available playogg slots as they currently sit in third position, one game ahead of Widener University.  Read more... 


Women's Lacrosse Escapes Alvernia in Second Half Thriller
First year Stephanie Holguin snapped a 13-all tie with less than four minutes remaining before senior Melanie Mark iced the win with the final score of the game to lift the Knights to a big 15-13 Middle Atlantic Conference win over Alvernia University Wednesday afternoon in Glenside. The win snaps a 8 game losing skid for the Knights who play their season finale at home this Saturday against Manhattanville College at 1 PM.  Read more...

Tim Smith '09
Baseball

The senior co-captain ended his collegiate campaign on a high note striking just his second home run of the year, giving him three for his career and two for the week in Sunday's season ending loss at Swarthmore.  In a winless week for the Knights, Smith led the team at the dish by going 7-17 (.412) with a pair of home runs, 4 RBI and 4 runs scored.  Smith was walked 5 times and led the team in slugging percentage (.765).

Jaime Bee '09
Softball

The senior racked a team high 12 hits and posted a team leading .571 batting average in a 3-3 week that saw the Knights clinch their first Commonwealth Conference championship playoff berth.  On Wed., April 22, Bee sent her fourth home run of the season over the fence, falling just one triple shy of the cycle as she helped the Knights to an important 8-7 win to split the series with Elizabethtown. She struck for a triple, single and a solo-home run shot in the win.  On the week, Bee hit 12012 with 6 doubles (giving her a team high 13 for the year) with 8 RBI and a slugging percentage of 1.000.

Women's Lacrosse


The sophomore attacker helped Arcadia to their second MAC win of the year, a 15-13 win over Alvernia where she scored 3 goals and dished out 2 assists.  For the week, Groves netted 8 goals and assisted on 5 others, both team highs.  She also captured 8 ground balls and controlled 6 draws with 5 caused turnovers. She finishes the year second in team scoring with 27 goals, 11 assists (38 points) and tops in draw controls with 34.
