Jennifer P. Celenza was awarded the Adeline W. Gomberg Scholarship in Reading at Arcadia University’s 2010 Honors Convocation.

The Gomberg award is made to the student who has enrolled in the graduate Reading program and shows promise of becoming a leader in literacy education. This scholarship was established by Dr. Gomberg, former Professor of Education and Director of Arcadia University’s Reading Clinic.

“Jennifer is an outstanding student as demonstrated by her written work and meaningful participation in class discussions,” said Assistant Professor Mark Wade. “She has a quiet strength that enables her to be a leader within a group. Her interest in obtaining certification as a reading specialist was a result of her desire to learn more about how to support struggling readers in her first-grade classroom. Jennifer is also enrolled in the ESL certification program to more effectively meet the diverse learning needs of students within her classroom.”
