Claim Your Space on the Fence for New Student Center

As Sarah Schwartz ’10 watched the fence go up and work begin on the new University Commons Student Center, her first thought was, “How can students be a part of this?”

The answer she came up with—”Get their names on the fence and be a part of the Campaign for the new Student Center.” Coming in Fall 2011, the Student Center will include lounges, a fireplace, a cafe, student meeting rooms, a bigger fitness center, aerobics and dance studios, student art exhibit space, a balcony, and space for student organizations.

Beginning at the Activities Fair on Thursday, Sept. 2, from 4 to 6 p.m. on the Alumni Fund Walk of Pride, students will be able to purchase a star to decorate with their name and add to the fence. Each student who makes a $10 donation also will have his or her name included in the Arcadia University 2010-11 Annual Report. Students making a $20 donation also will receive a limited edition “I Made a World of Difference” T-shirt featuring a Grey Towers Castle rendering.

“Be a star and add your name to the star-studded fence as you support the new University Commons,” says Vanessa Jackson, Assistant Director of the Annual Fund. “You can give back to Arcadia University and make a world of difference  as your gift will support the Commons, which is part of At Home & In the World—The Campaign for Arcadia University.”
