MyArcadia is getting a “make-over” and the community is invited to take a look. MyArcadia’s platform is being replaced with a new portal system. The current platform is more than seven years old and no longer serves the University’s needs. Its replacement (myCampus) is provided by Campus EAI, an internationally known provider of portal systems for higher education institutions. Matt McManus, LIT Web Services, and Sue Gettlin, University Relations, have been working hard over the past few months to bring the new system to life.

The content of the new site is nearly identical to the current MyArcadia Intranet site—however, the look and architecture of the site have changed. One noticeable new feature is the ability to search the contents of the site.

On the backend, IT has installed a new single sign-on system called CAS (Central Authentication System). It makes our systems more secure and allows us to offer nearly seamless access to Web services—users will be able to move between systems such as MyArcadia, Blackboard, Self-Service and Library Catalogs/databases without logging in multiple times.

The new portal will retain the name of MyArcadia. It will officially go live on Monday, Feb. 14.

About Blackboard
Blackboard will remain unchanged for the next few months. All tabs, information and Organizations will remain the same for now. Access Blackboard by clicking on the icon at the top of the left column after you log in or go to blackboard.arcadia.edu.

New Portal Features
We are exploring the new portal’s features such as communities, message boards, blogs and other communications tools. We will begin to roll them out over the next year.

How to Preview the New Portal
Go to mycampus.arcadia.edu and login. Please note that the new portal is still a work in progress. You may encounter non-functioning links or blank pages. The site will be finalized over the next few weeks.

We invite you to take a look around. Please use the Feedback tab on the left edge of main pages to send us comments on the site.
