Dr. Steve O. Michael, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, conveyed President Carl (Tobey) Oxholm III’s welcome remarks at a dinner in honor of the students on July 19. “This is an exciting time for high school students because the world is opening up for you,” said President Oxholm. “I want every student from Jiaozhou to know that through this visit, you are already a member of the Arcadia community, and we all will look forward to welcoming you back.  It is my hope to come to China this coming year, and if I am lucky, I will be able to visit your school.”

“We are proud to have Jiaozhou #1 High School be one of Arcadia’s partners in China, and we are honored to welcome Mrs. Zhou and Juijuan Zhai who are the leaders of the student delegation,” said Michael.

During their stay, the students also visited Philadelphia, the New Jersey shore, and Arcadia’s new King of Prussia Campus as well as the King of Prussia mall.

“Our visiting students also toured Chestnut Hill Academy and met with local students who are studying Mandarin,” notes Dr. Warren Haffar, Dean of the Office of International Affairs. “They toured the labs used in our master’s program in Forensic Science (Fredric Rieders Family Renaissance Foundation and NMS Labs) and had dinner with local leaders arranged by the Honorable Ida K. Chen, Judge, of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.”

During their time in the United States, the students also will travel to New York, Washington, D.C., Boston and Ohio.
