Turco Presents and Publishes International Sport Research

Dr. Douglas M. Turco, Associate Academic Dean, The College of Global Studies, co-authored the paper “Visitors’ Perceptions of the 2010 FIFA World Cup: A case study of the host city Nelson Mandela Bay/Port Elizabeth,” which he presented at the Second Sport and the Global South Conference on Nov. 14 at George Mason University.

Turco also contributed “La Furia Roja: Spanish Fan Behaviors During UEFA EURO Cup 2012” to boletin-turistico.com (Tourist Bulletin), an online travel newsletter in Spanish. Turco’s work on the economic impact of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four on Istanbul was also presented at the Future Sponsorship 2012 Conference, held Nov. 27-29 in Istanbul, Turkey. Read the article.
