KnightLink: A Resource to Find Full-time Employment and Summer Internships

By Purnell T. Cropper | April 26, 2013

KnightLink currently has just shy of 600 active job opportunities posted exclusively for Arcadia University students and alumni. These job opportunities include full- and part-time jobs, internships and volunteer experiences. Many of these positions are paid or for-credit. While most of the jobs are local and regional in nature, some are national and international. “You are encouraged to set up a ‘job agent’ so that when new jobs are posted that match your search criteria, you will receive an email alert,” says Mark Gress, Jr., Associate Director of Employer Relations, Office of Career Education. “This will save you time from logging into KnightLink on a daily basis.”

Additionally, there are nearly 1,400 active employer contacts utilizing KnightLink specifically to recruit from Arcadia.  This employer directory is available for students and alumni to proactively seek out and contact employers based on organization name, industry and location. This service is useful particularly when considering that nearly 80 percent of an organization’s open positions are never posted to job boards or advertised to the public.

Moreover, the Office of Career Education provides resources via KnightLink for students and alumni to utilize for the development and continued improvement of their resume, cover letter, interviewing and job search. “We strongly recommend that you upload your resume to your account and make it viewable to prospective employers, since many employers opt not to post a position to the job board but rather will request a resume book from the Office of Career Education,” says Gress. Only approved employers are permitted to utilize this recruiting function to hire from Arcadia.

Finally, KnightLink is one of the primary locations where the Office of Career Education shares announcements for career fairs, information sessions, workshops and other career-related events.
