Glenside Welcomes Class of 2019
A group of new students visit Sweet Magnolia in downtown Glenside.
For the third consecutive year, the Downtown Glenside Community Partnership held a welcome event for the incoming first-year class. Students walked the length of Easton Road and down Glenside Avenue to visit stores and restaurants that opened their doors, giving tastes and treats to groups of students as they entered the shops.
“It’s a wonderful community event that welcomes the students to their new home,” said Laura Baldwin, chief marketing and branding officer at Arcadia.
The evening ended with a raffle on Wesley Plaza, where business owners randomly drew the names of lucky students to receive prizes such as gift certificates, food, and frisbees.
