On March 18, Dr. Mustafa Aydin, President-Rector of Kadir Has University in Istanbul, Turkey, and Dr. Sinem Akgul Acikmese, International Collaboration and Education Coordinator at Kadir Has, visited Arcadia University to meet with President Nicolette DeVille Christensen and Lorna Stern, Vice President and Executive Director of The College of Global Studies.

“I want to say, on behalf of Arcadia University, how much we value this academic alliance with Kadir Has University,” President DeVille Christensen said. “This collaboration fosters global awareness, promotes greater knowledge of different cultures and peoples, and presents incredible opportunities for building empathy and informed understanding to our mutual benefit.”

In 2011, Arcadia University and Kadir Has University signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Working Agreement establishing an academic alliance that has since enabled many Arcadia students to study at Kadir Has with the support of the Arcadia Istanbul Center in Turkey. This year, Arcadia is also hosting a Kadir Has student at the University’s London Center.

“Arcadia University is particularly pleased with the very strong academic and cultural opportunities provided to our students studying at Kadir Has University,” said Lorna Stern, vice president of Arcadia University and executive director of The College of Global Studies. “Through our mutual collaboration we hope that our students will find ways to understand, navigate, and transcend the political, cultural, and national barriers that divide our world.  Our work in this regard has never been more significant.”
