Dr. Samer Abboud’s new book, Syria, was featured in The Washington Post on June 29 in a story on the best books to read this summer on the Middle East. Published in October, Syria has been acclaimed as one of the most comprehensive reads about the Syrian war.

“Samer Abboud’s Syria offers a short but analytically rich account of the new social and political realities shaped by insurgency,” Post contributor Marc Lynch wrote. “His book helps make sense of the war’s duration, brutality, rapidly shifting alliances and complex interactions among local and international forces.”
