Michael Huber, MMS, PA-C, DFAAPA, assistant professor and Director of Outreach in the Department of Medical Science, received the Partnership Award at the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) Education Forum this October in Minneapolis. This national award recognizes an individual or institution that provides support to one or more PA programs and that has made a noteworthy contribution to PA education.

Over the last 14 years, Huber has brought together seven PA programs in Philadelphia through PA Olympics, a fundraiser he established in 2003. He has inspired collaboration of leadership and expertise of more than 6,000 Physician Assistant students and faculty from Arcadia University, Salus University, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Philadelphia University, Drexel University, DeSales University, and University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.

To date, the PA Olympics has raised more than $72,000 in funds for annual charity recipients. With the many challenges facing PA education today, Huber hopes this collaborative relationship will serve as a successful and motivating model of how health profession programs can use their strengths and resources to work together to achieve common goals.
