The Arcadia University community came together for victims of Hurricane Harvey through donations to a smoothie fundraiser held by the Community and Civic Engagement Center (CCEC) on Aug. 31.

Students, faculty, and staff filled the University Commons to purchase a fruit smoothie, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to All Hands Volunteers’ Hurricane Harvey Response. The table also included a jar for extra donations and a poster outlining ways that people can volunteer or  help.

“The idea originated with the CCEC coordinator, Cindy [Rubino],” said CCEC member Sydney Schollenberger ’19. “The areas affected by Hurricane Harvey are where we want to focus our help over spring break this year, so we all agreed that this would be a great way to begin our service to the victims.”
