Over the summer, students in the Physician Assistant program at the Christiana and Glenside campuses volunteered to help their local communities, providing thousands of hours of service for 12 different organizations.

Students from the program packed meals at food banks, discussed educational opportunities with homeless youths, entertained patients at the Shriner’s Hospital for Children and A.I. duPont Hospital for Children, and worked with veteran and senior citizens at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center and retirement community Wyncote Place. In September, students hosted a bake sale to raise money for the Houston Food Bank, which is providing food to victims of Hurricane Harvey.

Additionally, students participated in a patient history experience day in August at Jefferson Hospital, where they worked with an actor to practice how to document the interview experience and produce a complete write-up of the history.
