By RetterJ | December 5, 2017

Black Awareness Society (BAS) will host a Kwanzaa celebration on Thursday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. in the Commons Great Room. The event will include a presentation on the origin and celebration of Kwanzaa, a performance by the Scarlet Steppers, as well as a traditional kinara to display the candles, symbolic of the seven principles of Kwanzaa: unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, collective economics, purpose, creativity, and faith.

This year’s celebration will also feature soul food from My Blue Heaven, spoken word and musical performances, and craft making.
