Environmental Network Hosts Annual Scarlet, Grey, and Green Day April 19

In celebration of Earth Day on April 22, join Arcadia University’s Environmental Network in celebrating Scarlet, Grey, and Green Day with a series of events throughout the day on April 19.

Succulent Fundraiser
From 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 4 to 4:30 p.m., bring a pot or mug to the Fireplace Lounge to plant your own succulent. This event will raise money for Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed, a nonprofit organization that aims to clean and improve the health of local creeks in the Greater Philadelphia area.

Bob DeMaria
From 12:15 to 1:45 p.m., environmentalist Bob DeMaria will present in the Great Room on Greenhouse initiatives, fuel alternatives, low-cost alternative energy food expansion, and other eco-friendly technologies. Cookies will be served to attendees.

EN Garden Revival
From 2 to 3 p.m., volunteers are invited to help rejuvenate the Environmental Network Garden behind Murphy Hall.

New Community Project (NCP)
From 3 to 4 p.m. in the Fireplace Lounge, David Radcliff of New Community Project will lead a discussion on earth care and global justice. NCP is a nonprofit organization that challenges consumer culture, supports native communities, and assists in reforestation and women’s empowerment around the world. Radcliff will also discuss opportunities for students to get involved through internships at NCP’s Sustainable Shelters.

Sustainable Eating: Snack with AU’s Vegetarian Club
From 4:30 to 5 p.m., Arcadia’s new Vegetarian Club will show you how to make easy vegetarian recipes and discuss sustainable eating.
