By Caitlin Burns | October 8, 2018

The Philadelphia Writers’ Conference (PWC) hosts its second free forum of the season, “The Undying Romance Between Humor and Horror” in the Castle on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

The panel will feature writer Ashlee Blackwell, who specializes in the history of black women as it intersects with the horror genre, and runs her own website titled “Graveyard Shift Sisters;” publisher and writer Donna Cavanagh, founder of HumorOutcasts (HO) and the partner of publishing company HumorOutcasts Press; Quirk Books editor Rick Chillot, writer Dina Leacock, a founding member of the writing group Garden State Horror Writers and former president of PWC; and writer and event moderator Gregory Frost, whose works have been finalists for literary awards such as the World Fantasy and International Horror Awards, James Tipree Award, and the Theodore Sturgen Award. Experts in humor and horror, the panel will talk about how these two genres, although seemingly different, actually go hand-in-hand.

No RSVP is needed for the event. Attendees can sign in at the forum for a chance to win 50 percent off the 2019 conference.
