Dr. Kim Dean, chair of the School of Education, addressed students in the sixth through 12th grades selected to represent their schools as Chief Science Officers (CSO) during the Pennsylvania SEED Leadership Training Institute at Arcadia in August.

The 60 CSOs explored STEM leadership initiatives on Arcadia’s campus to take back to the 22 middle and high schools they represented across the Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties. CSOs act as ambassadors to bring STEM leadership, experiences, and opportunities back to their peers with the goal of changing their communities.

Dr. Dean spoke to the students about continuing to ask questions and building a “community of curiosity” that creates an inclusive environment for peers to address challenges the world is facing today and in the future.
