Presidential Message: Our University’s Strength
Fortunately, Arcadia has navigated our challenges successfully. Recalibrating and finding a new balance as a community has been inspiring, and necessary; we truly have grown from disruption.
Whether it is our IT team working around the clock in addressing recent security challenges, our COVID response team’s masterful planning, the all-modes ingenuity of our faculty and staff, the resilience and perseverance of our students, or our Facilities, Public Safety, and Health Services efforts, we all care for this campus community. With the efforts of so many of you, we are blessed to have a strong, tight-knit community that can venture beyond the familiar to rethink how our organization and its people can thrive in this new world.
Earlier this week, my partner, Paayal Nair, hosted and provided the keynote address at the University’s Women Who Lead forum. Paayal’s talk reminded me of the balance we are trying to achieve as a university to unleash our strength and potential. In her talk, she referenced the four hands of the Goddess Laxmi, which represent different life pursuits that lead to a flourishing life if in balance.
Our community thrives when our diverse life pursuits intersect on our journey to reflect the world in which we want to live. As we observe a Wellness Day today, let’s take stock of all we have been through and achieved together. Our University’s strength is derived from the collective energy of our community members.
There is so much for us to be proud of and excited about as we build the University of the Future. The daffodils are finally blooming on campus, and so is our community! Thank you for inspiring our students and me.
Thank you,
Ajay Nair, Ph.D.
President
