CTLM Lunch & Learn: Creating a Queer- and Trans-Affirming and Inclusive Culture at Arcadia
CTLM will provide lunch for attendees of this event. For colleagues on the Christiana campus, a Zoom link can be provided upon request made to ctlm@arcadia.edu.
In this interactive session, we will discuss the significance of using correct names and pronouns for trans students, data on how and why using names and pronouns increases queer and trans students’ mental health and overall wellbeing, and other ways we can create a queer- and trans-inclusive and affirming culture at Arcadia. Graciela Slesaransky-Poe, she/her/ella, (Education professor); Zyah Fall she/her, (Sociology student); and Ilija Chacon-Flores, they/them (Actuarial Sciences student) will discuss their current research as part of the CASAA Scholar-Advocates Program as well as their experiences as queer and trans students of color/co-researchers and as faculty mentor/ally. Questions are encouraged as we seek to build a shared understanding of what each of us, individually and collectively, can do to improve the experiences of queer and trans students, faculty, and staff. Please join us for this important conversation.
