Aug. 10: Dr. Campbell Joins Panel at Newark Public Library on the Sights and Sounds of Resistance in Black Music

Dr. Bruce Campbell, associate professor of Education, will present Dust + Dignity: The Sights and Sounds of Resistance in Black Music on Wednesday, Aug. 10 at the Newark Public Library’s James Brown African-American Room. Dr. Campbell will be part of a panel discussion revolving around Black music’s sonic and visual response to social injustice throughout the years. The discussion begins at 6 p.m.; more information and registration for the free virtual event can be found here. 

Dr. Campbell is also the Director of the Educational Leadership Masters and Supervisory Certification programs. Throughout his career, Dr. Campbell has focused on embedding relevant issues of diversity into his practice, scholarship, and service.  He highlights experiences of underrepresented groups so that professionals and institutions can serve these communities more effectively.  Dr. Campbell teaches courses in educational leadership, organizational change, program evaluation, urban education, qualitative research methods, cultural competency and international musicology.
