Class of 2022 Spotlight: Catelyn Ballard

Catelyn Ballard

Major: International Studies, with minors in French and Environmental Studies.

Hometown: Penndel, Pa.

Time abroad: In spring 2019, Catelyn did a First Year Study Abroad Experience in London, England. She spent a semester abroad at Edinburgh Napier University in Edinburgh, Scotland during fall 2021 and also served as an intern at Edinburgh and Lothians Regional Equality Council Limited. 

On campus: Catelyn has been a campus ambassador, a resident assistant, and a work study student. She also has been a First Year Study Abroad Experience peer mentor, helping to guide first-year students who go to London in their second semester of college. In addition, she has been an International Studies peer mentor, helping to guide first-year students majoring in International Studies. Catelyn has served as treasurer for the Society for Castle Restoration.

Most memorable Arcadia experience: “Definitely study abroad, but also my time as a resident assistant too. That allowed me to be a hands-on helper for a wide range of the community. I’ve gotten to help different populations here.”

After Arcadia: Catelyn will begin her career as an admissions counselor at Alvernia University. She’s considering pursuing a master’s degree in business administration or higher education.
